چکیده

Abstract Rosemary is a medicinal plant widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industry. In Morocco, rosemary harvesting generates significant benefits for local economy. Even though, decision makers are short of accurate information about its geographical distribution area. The aim this study to delineate shrubs Oriental region Morocco order provide guidance sustainable use these natural resources. We therefore freely available images Sentinel‐2A binary classification (rosemary other lands) through an object‐based image‐analysis approach. random forest classifier was deployed trained with different object features likewise spectral values vegetation indices. As result, area 240,747 ha, which represents 18% studied Besides, encouraging overall accuracy 94.24% attained; user's class “rosemary” “Others” 93.3% 95.0%, respectively; meanwhile, producer's 93.72% 94.65%.

Urban Land Cover Analysis from Satellite Images

This is a study of modeling urban environments from TM satellite images. Urban environments are so heterogeneous. It is necessary to simplify them as combinations of basic land cover materials in order to enable quantitative studies. The V-I-S model proposed by Ridd in 1995 is a conceptual model to simplify urban environments as combination of three basic ground components: vegetation, impervio...

Selecting Representative High Resolution Sample Images for Land Cover Studies. Part 2: Application to Estimating Land Cover Composition

We tested the effectiveness of the Purposive Selection selected using the AVHRR tiles. A random sample was also selected for comparison. The domain AVHRR cover Algorithm (PSA, described in the companion first article) to accurately estimate land cover composition over a type fractions were then corrected using TM maps for the selected tiles, following the method of Walsh and Burk large area. Historical Image Registration and Land-Use Land-Cover Change Analysis

Historical aerial images are important to retain past ground surface information. The land-use land-cover change in the past can be identified using historical aerial images. Automatic historical image registration and stitching is essential because the historical image pose information was usually lost. In this study, the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm was used for feature ...

Fuzzy Image Regions for Quantitative Land Cover Analysis

Fuzzy Image Regions were proposed recently as an alternative GEOBIA method for conducting qualitative land cover classification. In this paper, these fuzzy segments are applied for estimation of quantitative (i.e. compositional) land cover. The method comprises three main stages: (i) fuzzy segmentation to create segments with indeterminate boundaries and uncertain thematic allocation; (ii) feat...
